Tre’von Laron Johnson, passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 13, 2017 as a result of undiagnosed sleep apnea. He was born in November of 1987 in Van Nuys, California to Tyrone Johnson and Aureta (Jones) Patten. He attended Hawthorne High School and Lauzinger High School, where he became known for his basketball skills. He then earned his certification in Physical Therapy from ICDC College.
From a young age, Tre’von was a sports aficionado. One of his favorite pastimes was to watch basketball and football games with friends and family. Tre’von also attended Lutheran Church where he also enjoyed volunteering his time to support the community and help homeless people in the area. He recently completed his certification as a youth counselor through the church, and was looking forward to counseling young people.
Tre’von is survived by his children Tre’von Johnson, Jr. (Keisha Wallace) and Zuri Johnson (Dutchess Thompson); his mother and stepfather Aureta (Jones) Patten and Ellis Patten; his father Tyrone Johnson; sisters Tanayia Robinson, Tamya Patten and Mia Johnson; stepsisters, Yndia Patten, Kailee Patten; and stepbrother, Ellis Patten III; niece Zayanna McDew; maternal grandmother Grace Jones; and paternal grandparents, Rodney and Donna Barnes, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather James Davis Carter, sister Tamarra Blaylock and his aunt, Lisa Renee Jones.
Tre’von will be dearly missed by everyone that knew him. He had the kind of heart that made his parents and family proud, and earned loyalty from his friends.
Calling hours will be held Monday, November 27, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Lorenzen Angeleno Funeral Home at 18558 Sherman Way Reseda, CA 91335. His funeral will be on Tuesday November 28 at 10:30 a.m. at Bridge Bible Fellowship, 18644 Sherman Way, Reseda, CA 91335.
